Skateboarding Level 1: Ages 6-18
In this class our main focus is working on our foundation. Foot placement, pushing/riding, Riding ramps and turning. Let’s learn how to feel comfortable on our boards! We provide helmets and skateboards for all students but they are welcome to bring their own. Wearing a helmet is required. Knee pads and elbow pads are optional but not provided. All participants must have a signed online waiver by a parent or guardian. You can find that link, here. By the end of this class riders will be able to comfortably push and ride their boards on flat ground and up and down ramps. Edina Gymnastics: Gr. 2-7
Calling all HORNET gymnasts - Come do gymnastics in the Edina gymnastics gym! Edina Gymnastics is designed to provide a flexible, more affordable option for gymnastics while catering to the needs of each individual gymnast and family. Whether your gymnast is preparing to join high school gymnastics, or an elementary school student looking for a low pressure experience, this is a great option! Gymnasts will be thoughtfully placed in a group during practice, where they can best succeed. Our coaching team is composed of high school/college aged veteran coaches who have been involved with our program for some time, plus adult coaches who are currently coaching the Edina Gymnastics program. Gymnasts will be able to build their skills, compose routines, and feel like they are part of a team! DASH Soccer: Gr. K-5
DASH Sports soccer camps provide players a well-rounded soccer experience covering a broad range of soccer skills training (dribbling, passing, shooting, & defense) and skill-based games. Players will be challenged and grouped at an appropriate level while receiving instruction in a fun, positive environment while learning values of ‘Respect, Hustle, and Pride’. Camp ends with a scrimmage on the final day. Athletes should bring a labeled water bottle (spikes and shin guards are optional). Balls are provided. Discover the joy of ballet! Our classes are designed to encourage exploration and creativity, while teaching fundamental movements and terminology. Children will also develop essential motor skills and musicality. Join us today! All levels welcome. Attire Leotard – pink, light blue, black, or other pastel colors (may have chiffon skirt attached) Pink tights, white dress ankle socks, or bare legs Ballet slippers* (pink leather or canvas only) or bare feet T-shirt, shorts, biker shorts, or leggings (the more form-fitting and movement-adaptable, the better) Ballet slippers (white or black leather or canvas) or bare feet Hair: All hair should be secured off the face, with longer hair in a ponytail or bun. Avoid purchasing ballet slippers at Target or regular shoe stores. The soles of these ballet slippers tend to be stiff and don't allow for proper pointe movement. Shoes: Should be form-fitting, with the toes resting (not curled under) against the tip of the shoe. Shoes that are too big don't allow for efficient movement. Intro to Ballet 2: Ages 5.5-7
Build on your ballet foundation! Our classes combine creative exercises with fundamental ballet techniques, helping you develop motor skills, musicality, and a solid understanding of traditional ballet. Whether you’re new to ballet or have previous experience, you’re welcome to join us! Attire: Bring ballet shoes or socks. Students should wear what they feel most comfortable wearing, we suggest something able to move in, and so the instructor can still see the line of the body. (leggings, shorts, tank tops are all options also if student is uncomfortable in a leotard and tights.) Saturday Introduction to Squash: Gr. 2-6
Ready to turn your energy into endless fun on the squash court? Squash is the ultimate game where kids whack a bouncy ball against walls, chase it like a wild adventure, and build super skills while laughing with friends.Kids will dive into the basics of squash with exciting drills that boost footwork, shot accuracy, and game rules, all while sharpening their minds like chess masters on the run. Through group clinics and supervised play, kids will make lifelong friends in a tight-knit community that celebrates each child's unique talents. Instructor Shoby Gul is a world-renowned squash pro with years of experience developing junior squash programs and mentoring squash beginners. Participants should wear gym clothes and clean, indoor, non-marking court style shoes. All other material will be provided by the instructor. Golf Squad: Gr. K-5
Golf Squad is an afterschool enrichment program that brings Golf Professionals from your local area to your school campus to give a once-a-week lesson to the students. Golf Squad Professionals focus on teaching the fundamentals of the game of golf as well as valuable life lessons that help the students develop. Some fundamentals of the game that the students will learn include putting, chipping, full swing irons, full swing woods. They will also learn relationship building, proper etiquette, and rules of the game, and the students will receive a book and a hat. Students don't need to bring any equipment. Learn to Dive: Ages 5-18
***Prerequisites: Must be confident in deep water. Age is not as important as willingness to try new things.*** Learn basic springboard diving skills, diving safety, and how to use the diving board with proper technique. You'll increase your flexibility and have lots of fun! Beginning divers with little or no previous instruction are welcome. During this class, divers will learn the fundamentals of diving including: front approach with hurdle, front dive, back press, back dive, inward dive, front somersault. Often divers will take this class more than one time to achieve proficiency in the skills expected in Intermediate Diving. When the diver is ready to move to Intermediate, coaches will move them up even during the middle of a session. ***Prerequisites: Participation is limited to divers who can successfully demonstrate dives from all five dive groups (forward, back, reverse, inward and twisting groups), or with instructor approval. Only 12 divers will be accepted. *** Divers with prior competitive springboard diving experience are welcome (high school varsity or junior varsity, or age group diving experience)!
