Join our beginner ballet class at Midwest School of Ballet! Our experienced instructors offer a traditional approach focusing on barre work, center work, proper alignment, technique, musicality, and artistry. This class is ideal for students with little to no experience, returning students, or those completing Fundamentals II/III.

Attire Leotard – pink, light blue, black, or other pastel colors (may have chiffon skirt attached)

Pink tights, white dress ankle socks, or bare legs Ballet slippers* (pink leather or canvas only) or bare feet T-shirt, shorts, biker shorts, or leggings (the more form-fitting and movement-adaptable, the better) Ballet slippers (white or black leather or canvas) or bare feet

Hair: All hair should be secured off the face, with longer hair in a ponytail or bun. Avoid purchasing ballet slippers at Target or regular shoe stores. The soles of these ballet slippers tend to be stiff and don't allow for proper pointe movement.

Shoes: Should be form-fitting, with the toes resting (not curled under) against the tip of the shoe. Shoes that are too big don't allow for efficient movement.

Registration Deadline

Registration for all class sessions closes 3 business days before the start date.

If you miss the deadline but are still interested, you can contact the Community Ed office. Space may be limited, but we'll try our best to accommodate late registrations.
