Countryside Choir: Gr. 3-5Art, Theater, Music & CreativityCome sing with the Countryside Choir! Under the direction of Mrs. Prowell, students will explore the joy of music, build friendships, and have fun through engaging songs and activities. Weekly rehearsals will lead up to a final concert performance, and singers will also get to participate in the 2nd annual All-District “Sing Together” Choral Festival! Create Your Own Felted Fall Pouch - IntergenerationalLifelong LearningCreate Your Own Felt Pouch: Warm up your creativity this fall as you explore how fibers, warmth, soapy water, and motion transform into a soft yet sturdy felted pouch you can use for a variety of things. This pouch will hold your kids’ snacks, your snacks, jewelry, vitamins, cards, and many other things. You’ll learn how to layer wool and silk fibers, use flat resists to build structure, and shape your pouch into clean, intentional forms. Autumn colors—auburn, golden, moss, and berry—will inspire your palette, and all wool and silk fibers are provided. You’ll design your own compartments and tuck in wrapped snacks to test the fit. You’ll leave with a functional wool pouch and the confidence to keep felting at home. 12 years and older may attend with an adult. Both adult and child must register and pay. The Edina Enquirer is being published and I need your child to create it. Your child will create their own tabloid newspaper, full of their own silly articles and pictures from all around the world, sports, entertainment, nationally or locally while tapping into their imagination and creativity. They will learn valuable typing and writing skills and creative blocks as they grow older. I will print out their newspaper to take home at the end of these sessions. Cross Country Running Club: South View & Valley View: Gr. 6Sports, Health & FitnessCome join the Cross Country Running Club at South View middle school this fall! All 6th grade students from both Valley View and South View are welcome to register. The running club will meet in the mornings for an hour and participants will spend their time going on fun runs around the community and learning proper warm up/training/cool down procedures for healthy distance running. Valley View students will be able to ride the activity bus to school once run club is finished. There are two optional race opportunities for run club participants. Dates, times, and location TBD. K-5Sports, Health & FitnessDASH Sports Summer FULL DAY Multi-Sport camp includes fun skills training and games in three sports: Soccer, Basketball, and Flag Football. Athletes will spend roughly 1.5 hours learning and practicing each sport per day. Key sports skills will be taught and practiced in all 3 sports including: dribbling, passing, shooting, defense, and more! Also included daily are fun games such as Dodgeball, Capture the Flag, Kickball, and more! Camp ends with games/scrimmages the final day for each sport, where athletes can showcase their skills. DASH NFL Football League: 1st GradeSports, Health & FitnessThis is a 6-week flag football league that includes 30 minutes of practice followed by a 1-hour game each Saturday for a total of 6 practices and 6 games. League format is 5 vs 5, recreational, non-contact where players will receive equitable playing time. Participation medals will be awarded to each player in the league at the conclusion of the season. Players will receive official NFL Flag Football Jerseys and flag belts that they keep. All games will have hired referees and scores & standings will be recorded and posted weekly at www.dashsports.us. Parents/Coaches are welcome to put together their own roster of players or if you do not have a team, you may register as an individual. All parents who are organizing a team should e-mail their rosters to josh@dashsports.us. If you register as an individual, you will be placed on a team, and we will do our best to accommodate any friend requests and/or group children by school. This league requires parents to volunteer as coaches, and we will provide the coaches with resources such as: on-line coach training, playbooks, and footballs to help run a successful season.
