Learn how to “read” the winter landscape in this intergenerational workshop that blends naturalist skills with hands‑on making. You’ll explore the footprints, gaits, and movement patterns of the wildlife commonly found in Edina—such as deer, fox, rabbit, raccoon, coyote, squirrel, and turkey—and try out stamps for several of Minnesota’s more elusive species, including black bear, bobcat, and wolf. Using soft clay, you’ll create a stamped tile and a simple slab‑form trinket tray featuring your favorite track(s). Students will also learn how to build a cardboard slump mold to support their clay piece as it hardens at home, helping it keep its shape and preventing warping. This workshop is designed for mixed‑age learning, with approachable techniques and plenty of room for creativity. All materials provided; no prior experience needed.
