Skateboarding Level 1: Ages 6-18Sports, Health & FitnessIn this class our main focus is working on our foundation. Foot placement, pushing/riding, Riding ramps and turning. Let’s learn how to feel comfortable on our boards! We provide helmets and skateboards for all students but they are welcome to bring their own. Wearing a helmet is required. Knee pads and elbow pads are optional but not provided. All participants must have a signed online waiver by a parent or guardian. You can find that link, here. By the end of this class riders will be able to comfortably push and ride their boards on flat ground and up and down ramps. South View Drumline: Gr. 6-8Art, Theater, Music & CreativityCome and join the beginning of a new-to-Edina program focusing on the development of percussionists/drummers through the thrilling and enjoyable medium of bucket drums. This introduction to percussion and performance class is great for learning the basics of rhythms, rudimentary drumming, reading music and ensemble performance. This class is perfect for all experience levels, whether your student is picking up sticks for the first time or wanting to continue their learning and performing as a drummer. At the end of the session our ensemble will perform at an all school assembly to showcase what they’ve learned. Foci Glass Exploration: Ages 9-13Art, Theater, Music & CreativityThis five day camp introduces students to the magic of working with glass in its various forms using glassblowing-shaping molten glass, kilnforming- fusing colorful sheet glass, and flameworking- melting glass over a torch. Participants focus on learning to safely use glass as an artistic expression and make a series of glass sculptures throughout the week.
