Unified Art Blast: Gr. K-5

Youth / Art, Theater, Music & Creativity -
Youth Summer 2026

If you love art, this is the ultimate camp for you! Join us at this one-of-a-kind art program and let the good times roll as we create amazing projects with all sorts of art materials like watercolors, pastels, clay, canvas and more! We’ll draw, paint, sculpt, and collage amazing projects to take home. Animals, landscapes, cupcakes, and funny characters are part of this awesome camp.

Edina Community Ed “Unified” camps blend students with special needs and students who are more typically developing to explore art, theater, fitness and more. Our goal is to create a community of individuals, both with and without disabilities, devoted to awareness, advocacy, leadership and empathy through authentic relationship-building experiences.

Unified Lottery Registration Process

Our goal as a department and district is to provide a registration process for Unified that is

equitable for families and administratively manageable, while also maximizing opportunities for students to participate in Unified programing.

Class Request/Acceptance Process

  • Registration requests must be submitted for each Unified class your student is interested in attending.
  • Families will register students only for classes on weeks they are able to attend.
  • Families will be given a two-week window to submit registration requests.
  • Registrations will be accepted on a space-available basis. If more registrations are requested than available for a specific class, a random computerized lottery, with no preference for registration request date, will be held for that class.
  • On the first round of class lotteries, each student will be allowed a maximum of two enrollments, at which point they will be removed from further lottery assignments.
  • An individual lottery will be run for each class, chronologically by class start date.
  • Once the lottery has been run for each class, if there are still class enrollment slots available, the lottery process will be repeated to allow for up to three (3) enrollments per student. This pattern will continue until all available spots are filled.
  • Waitlists will be kept for each class once all spots are filled.

Class Registration Window

Registration requests must be submitted during the established two-week window in order to be included in the lottery.

Summer 2026

Registration request window: February 10, 8:00am - February 23, 11:59pm

Registration acceptance/waitlist notification will be sent out via email by March 6.

Registration fees will be charged at the time of registration acceptance.

Registration Deadline

Registration closes at 11:55 PM the Thursday before the start date.

Please note: For classes the week of 6/22, registration closes on 6/17 due to district closures in recognition of Juneteenth. We apologize for any inconvenience this variance may cause.

If you miss the deadline but are still interested, you can contact the Community Ed office. Space may be limited, but we'll try our best to accommodate late registrations.
