Morning Math Team: Gr. 6-8
Competitive math. Competitions through MN Junior High Math League (MNJHML) and MATHCOUNTS. Five MNJHML competitions are held after school October – January and focus mostly on 8th grade Algebra 1 concepts. MATHCOUNTS is an extended season for select Math Team members, beginning immediately after MNJHML ends, with a much broader focus of math concepts reaching into the realms of Geometry, Probability, Counting, and Algebra 2. It’s a great place for students who have a passion for math to get together and do math! We have lots of fun every week! Whether you're a new or returning student, the Engineering For Kids Jr. Makers Club offers hands-on, engaging activities each week to spark curiosity and creativity. Students will explore engineering concepts while developing essential 21st-century skills like problem-solving, critical thinking, and teamwork, building confidence to tackle challenges in and out of the classroom. Some of the project include: Aerospace Engineering Stunt Plane- Students learn about the science of flight and design their own glider. Acoustic Engineering String Telephone- Students explore how sound travels by creating and testing their own string telephone. Mechanical Engineering Pyramid Slingshot- Students explore potential and kinetic energy as they design and build a simple pyramid‑style slingshot. Coding Unplugged: Binary Bracelets- Students learn how information is represented so that computers can interpret and store it, then create a simple binary bracelet. Environmental Engineering Bug in a Web- Students learn how spiders use their webs to catch bugs in nature, then build a simple bug‑in‑a‑web model inspired by how real webs work. ACT Practice Test: Gr. 10-12
Take the first step toward higher ACT scores! We’re offering a community ACT practice test that simulates real testing conditions. This is a stress-free way to experience the ACT, discover where you stand, and create a plan for success. Students will receive their score within two weeks after the test. An optional one-on-one follow-up appointment can be scheduled to receive more detailed information on strengths and areas for improvement. This includes the science section of the test. Code Championship Tournament Series | Virtual Computer Coding Competition: Gr. 3-9
