In this demonstration-style class, you’ll learn how to layer flavors, textures, and wholesome ingredients to create balanced vegetarian meals inspired by global cuisines. We’ll prepare three delicious bowls: a hearty Lentil Bowl with Roasted Vegetables along with rice, greens and a refreshing cilantro yogurt sauce; a comforting Rice Noodle Bowl featuring sesame-ginger tofu and crisp greens drizzled with a rich Thai peanut sauce; and a wholesome Farro Buddha Bowl with teriyaki tempeh, roasted sweet potatoes, and a bright lemon tahini finish. Along the way, you’ll pick up tips on roasting vegetables, preparing plant-based proteins, and creating flavorful sauces that bring everything together. Perfect for anyone looking to add easy, nourishing, plant-forward meals to their routine— just come ready to watch, learn, taste and be inspired. 10 years and older may attend with an adult. Savor Magical Millets - IntergenerationalLifelong LearningDiscover the power of millets—ancient grains that are making a modern comeback! In this hands-on class, you’ll learn how to incorporate a variety of millets into everyday cooking through flavorful, nourishing and easy to make Indian recipes. Millets are naturally gluten-free, rich in fiber, and packed with essential minerals like iron, calcium, and magnesium. They are known to support digestion, provide sustained energy, and offer a wholesome alternative to refined grains—making them a valuable addition to a balanced, plant-forward diet. Together, we’ll prepare a delicious lineup of dishes: Ragi Chilla, a savory, vegetable-studded finger millet crepe that’s perfect for a healthy breakfast; Jowar Upma, a hearty and satisfying dish made with whole grain sorghum and seasonal vegetables; Bajra Khichdi, a traditional Rajasthani comfort meal combining pearl millet, moong dal, vegetables, and warming spices; and Barnyard Millet Kheer, a creamy, aromatic dessert made with coconut milk and cardamom for a perfectly sweet finish. 12 years and older may attend with an adult. Savor Hearty Soups - IntergenerationalLifelong LearningWarm up with a trio of satisfying, flavor-packed soups that are perfect for cozy nights and nourishing everyday meals. In this hands-on class, you’ll roll up your sleeves and learn how to create hearty, wholesome soups using simple ingredients and bold, layered flavors. We’ll start with a comforting Vegetable Farro Soup—creamy, chunky, and rich with fresh vegetables, and nutty farro. Next, you’ll prepare a vibrant Chickpea Tortilla Soup, a hearty Southwestern-inspired bowl featuring tender chickpeas, medley of vegetables, fluffy couscous, finished with crisp tortilla chips and bright lime for a fresh, zesty kick. Finally, we’ll make a cozy, crowd-pleasing Lasagna Soup that captures all the classic flavors of the beloved pasta dish in a warm, spoon-able form. Along the way, you’ll learn techniques for building depth of flavor, balancing textures, and creating soups that are both nourishing and deeply satisfying.
