Intro to Ballet - IntergenerationalFitness/AquaticsImprove your fitness, strength, and flexibility with adult ballet in a fun, supportive, and community-focused setting—no tutu required! Whether you're brand new, returning after a break, or looking for a local alternative to city studios with city parking, we have a class for you! With multiple levels and schedules, our professionally trained instructors help you build technique, prevent injury, and enjoy the many physical and mental benefits of ballet. You will also get the opportunity to build community and friendships in a healthy and welcoming environment. Intro to Ballet Specifics: New to ballet or returning after a break? This class is for you! Learn foundational ballet steps, positions, and musicality in a supportive, non-competitive environment. You will receive individual corrections with a focus on proper technique to improve your alignment and prevent injury. Build strength, balance, and body awareness and improve coordination and posture at a comfortable pace! Class will focus on barre work but may also include some center steps. Ballet 1 with Lisa - MWSB - IntergenerationalFitness/AquaticsThis Midwest School of Ballet (MWSB) class is for students who want to refresh previously learned ballet vocabulary, already have some experience, and are comfortable moving beyond an intro level, alongside other adults and teens. This class is open to students ages 16 plus. Why take ballet? Attire: Bring ballet shoes or socks. Students should wear what they feel most comfortable wearing, we suggest something able to move in, and so the instructor can still see the line of the body. (leggings, shorts, tank tops are all options also if student is uncomfortable in a leotard and tights.) Girls/Ladies: leotard (solid color) pink tights pink leather or canvas ballet slippers* no attached or separate skirts (except 20yrs or older) Boys/Men: white form fitting t-shirt black biker shorts or leggings, or black tights white or black leather or canvas ballet slippers (thin white ankle/knee socks can also be worn) Hair: ALL hair should be secured off the face and longer hair in a pony tail or bun.
