Explore - The Museum of Russian ArtLifelong LearningJoin Maria Cassidy our community ed tour guide for a guided tour of the Museum of Russian Art. Your tour begins at 11am and usually lasts around from 30 to 45 minutes. Please arrive a few minutes early. The cost includes the entrance fee as well as the guided tour with the Museum staff. Maria, who hails from Russia, will be available after the official tour to answer questions, revisit any paintings you might want to discuss, and provide more context. We removed the lunch portion of the event due to logistical issues. If you wish to gather afterwards for lunch at Wise Acre Eatery you may. The Museum of Russian Art in Minneapolis is located at 5500 Stevens Ave, MPLS 55419 at the corner of Diamond Lake Road and 35W. Street parking is available. \ Registration for this class closes on February 23. Explore Edina - A Stroll through History - IntergenerationalLifelong LearningJoin us for a walking tour that explores the rich and complex history of Edina. From its early days as a farming settlement to its evolution into a vibrant first-ring suburb, Edina has a fascinating story to tell—including chapters that are both inspiring and challenging. Learn about local architecture, hidden landmarks, and notable figures like B.C. Yancey. Discover what makes the Eastlake Style unique, and why part of the Edina Theater holds special historical significance. We’ll meet at the historic Cahill School and wrap up at 50th & France—come ready to walk, listen, and see Edina with fresh eyes. We welcome our younger learners who are paired with an adult learner. Lettering: The Art of Drawing Letters: Gr. 9-12Art, Theater, Music & CreativityIn this in-person workshop, you will discover the basic techniques for drawing letters and short words. We will start with a theoretical section that covers styles and letterforms, and end with guided practice time where you will work on a simple postcard or poster design of your choosing. Students will come away from the class with the knowledge to continue hand lettering on their own.
