You may have wanted to learn how to do stained glass art for a long time but didn't want to invest in expensive materials and tools. Or maybe you wanted to take a class but were deterred by the large class sizes where you feel rushed. Join John Hanson for this Copper Foil Stained Glass class to learn the art of copper foil in a small class setting where you can work at your own pace. Glass shops charge much higher rates for similar classes. You will learn how to make, cut, and use patterns, cut and grind glass, tape glass with copper foil, solder glass, finish the edges with a zinc border, and add rings for hanging. He will also discuss how to use patina and polish to finish the panel. John has been designing, creating, repairing, and restoring antique glass windows for over 25 years. You must have sufficient arm and hand strength to cut and break glass. Bring your own safety glasses/goggles. All tools, supplies, and materials are supplied and each student takes home a small panel. Safety glasses must be brought and used while cutting and grinding glass. Age 12-16 must be accompanied by an adult. No experience needed. ________________________________________________________________ Please read our Adult Programming Overview page for all info regarding registration, cancellation, and building info.
