Beginning Woodcarver: Gnome - IntergenerationalLifelong LearningClass will begin with learning about various knives, how to utilize them, and the types of wood used in carving. Participants will carve a Gnome from a block of wood utilizing various types of cuts. After completing the carving, students will be able to paint their project. Knives and safety gloves will be available for each student to use at no charge; however, participants are encouraged bring their own, should they have them. Materials (wood blanks, paint, brushes, and wax) will be provided. Beginning Woodcarver: Cardinal - IntergenerationalLifelong LearningCardinals are a symbol of love, fidelity, and for many of us a remembrance of someone in our life who has passed away. It makes a perfect gift for Valentine's Day. We will carve several cardinals of different sizes. Upon completion students will be able to paint their carvings..
