Directed by Valley View Head Coach Jonathan Buckley and South View Head Coach Jennifer Harrits and assisted by other program coaches as well as EHS athletes, campers will experience a full track team experience. Campers will be able to choose events to focus on and practice in preparation for the camp track meet. This program is designed for all levels of track athletes from someone looking to get in better shape and learn about track to those who want to achieve their peak performance in a competitive environment. Camp will conclude with a track meet that will mirror an official middle school/high school track meet experience, providing all participants a chance to compete in multiple events of their choice. While places will be determined and awarded, all participants will be recognized for participating and competing. Registration Fee includes an official camp t-shirt, instruction and prizes. Through music, movement and quiet writing time, campers will write their own poetry. Campers will read work by professional poets and have the opportunity to share with others their own personal poetry they have created. Writing the College Application Essay: Gr. 10-12Expand Your World & EnrichmentAs college deadlines approach, one of the most common things students struggle with is the college essay. Navigating how to stand out from the pack while remaining true and thoughtful to your own story can be a challenge. Students taking this course will learn how to unpack what the essay writing prompts are asking of them and brainstorm a variety of possible topics for their work. Students will have the opportunity to write and revise essays for their own writing portfolio and receive specific instructor feedback. At the end of the week, each student should have 1-2 strong examples of essays that have been both peer and teacher reviewed.
