Total Hoops Academy - Basketball Skill Development: Gr. 5-6Sports, Health & FitnessTotal Hoops Academy is a skill-first basketball training program built on the European development model — the approach that has produced many of the world's best players. Every session includes a minimum of 200 tracked shots, plus game-like scenarios and half-court 1v1, 2v2, and 3v3 play that reinforce the skills taught that day. Roughly half of each session is high-intensity playing. What sets the program apart is measurement. Every rep, every session, and every athlete's effort is tracked through the Hoops Engine app, so players and parents can see real, session-over-session progress rather than guessing. We treat maximum effort as a teachable skill, not a personality trait. Training is led by Coach David Swan, a former college and European professional head coach with an 80%+ career winning percentage who has instructed more than 17,000 players from 21 countries. Tracks & Trays: Minnesota Wildlife in Clay - IntergenerationalLifelong LearningLearn how to “read” the winter landscape in this intergenerational workshop that blends naturalist skills with hands‑on making. You’ll explore the footprints, gaits, and movement patterns of the wildlife commonly found in Edina—such as deer, fox, rabbit, raccoon, coyote, squirrel, and turkey—and try out stamps for several of Minnesota’s more elusive species, including black bear, bobcat, and wolf. Using soft clay, you’ll create a stamped tile and a simple slab‑form trinket tray featuring your favorite track(s). Students will also learn how to build a cardboard slump mold to support their clay piece as it hardens at home, helping it keep its shape and preventing warping. This workshop is designed for mixed‑age learning, with approachable techniques and plenty of room for creativity. All materials provided; no prior experience needed. A light packed lunch or snack is recommended for our 30-minute mid-class break. 12 years and older may attend with an adult. Both adult and child must register and pay. WaitlistUnified Into Board Games: Gr. K-12Expand Your World & EnrichmentFinish out your summer with a fun week of board games led by CSGA! Edina Community Ed “Unified” camps blend students with special needs and students who are more typically developing to explore art, theater, fitness and more. Our goal is to create a community of individuals, both with and without disabilities, devoted to awareness, advocacy, leadership and empathy through authentic relationship-building experiences. --- Unified Lottery Registration Process Our goal as a department and district is to provide a registration process for Unified that is equitable for families and administratively manageable, while also maximizing opportunities for students to participate in Unified programing. Class Request/Acceptance Process Registration requests must be submitted for each Unified class your student is interested in attending. Families will register students only for classes on weeks they are able to attend. Families will be given a two-week window to submit registration requests. Registrations will be accepted on a space-available basis. If more registrations are requested than available for a specific class, a random computerized lottery, with no preference for registration request date, will be held for that class. On the first round of class lotteries, each student will be allowed a maximum of two enrollments, at which point they will be removed from further lottery assignments. An individual lottery will be run for each class, chronologically by class start date. Once the lottery has been run for each class, if there are still class enrollment slots available, the lottery process will be repeated to allow for up to three (3) enrollments per student. This pattern will continue until all available spots are filled. Waitlists will be kept for each class once all spots are filled. Class Registration Window Registration requests must be submitted during the established two-week window in order to be included in the lottery. Summer 2026 Registration request window: February 10, 8:00am - February 23, 11:59pm Registration acceptance/waitlist notification will be sent out via email by March 6.
