(Online) - Comprehensive ACT Prep Course: Gr. 10-12
The Comprehensive ACT Prep Course reviews all subjects of the ACT Test - English, Math, Reading & Science (totally 16 hours), focusing on content and testing strategies. The course is held online via Zoom and classes will be recorded for reviews and any missed sessions. This course does not include participation in the ACT test. Driver's Education: Classroom Instruction & Behind the Wheel: Ages 14.5-18
Safeway Driving School provides a comprehensive driver education program designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills needed for safe and responsible driving. Our program is open to students aged 14.5 to 18, offering flexibility and convenience for families. What's Included: 30 hours of classroom instruction: Covering state-approved curriculum to prepare students for their permit exam. 6 hours of behind-the-wheel training: Individualized, hands-on driving lessons with professional, experienced instructors. Flexible scheduling: Convenient class times and driving sessions designed to fit your student's busy schedule, with easy make-up options available for busy teenaged schedules. State certification: Upon completion of the program, students will receive all necessary documentation to apply for their Minnesota driver’s license. Important Timelines and Planning Tips: Students have one year from the end of the classroom portion or their 15th birthday, whichever is later, to complete their three, 2 hour, behind-the-wheel lessons. Join the Edina Chess Team! Over the Board chess team practice for the serious chess players preparing for competition. Participants will expect a 45-60 minute lesson and play. This is not a chess club! This is the Edina Chess Team. Youth Woodshop: Wooden Trinket Shelf
In this after-school course we will be designing and making a small shelf, or for the more experienced students a set of small shelves! Students will be using ¾ thick pine planking of various widths put together with glue and nails utilizing simple rabbet joinery. There will be plenty of room to add personal touches in how students choose to design, shape, and finish their shelves. We will be focusing on highly crafted shelves smaller than two feet in width and one foot in depth. We will discuss mounting options and students will be encouraged to bring items they want to store on the shelf to ensure correct sizing. -
