Join the Edina Chess Team! Over the Board chess team practice for the serious chess players preparing for competition. Participants will expect a 45-60 minute lesson and play. This is not a chess club! This is the Edina Chess Team. Improve your skills to represent your school in chess competitions.Tournament fees are an additional cost, if participants choose to participate in those extra events. This Private ACT Prep Course focuses on content review and testing strategies to improve your ACT English and Reading scores. The course offers a flexible 6-hour package that can be scheduled in sessions that best fit the student’s needs (e.g. One‑hour sessions, two-hour sessions, etc.). Time can be allocated flexibly between subjects, and does not need to be split evenly. If a student would benefit from spending more time on one area, such as 4 hours on English and 2 hours on Reading, we are happy to accommodate. After registering through Edina Community Education, Math Addvantage will contact you directly to coordinate a schedule that works best for you. A Zoom link will be sent prior to the first session. In this course your children will build critical thinking skills and learn basic strategy. We will also test our emotional maturity through teambuilding, participation requirements, and available prizes by traveling the original Pokemon Kanto map from the Red/Blue/Green games.Your child will have the opportunity to win multiple prizes and a pizza party!Earning these things requires your children to work as a team and utilize all players to advance through this 2 day quest. Driver's Education: Classroom Instruction & Behind the Wheel: Ages 14.5-18
Safeway Driving School provides a comprehensive driver education program designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills needed for safe and responsible driving. Our program is open to students aged 14.5 to 18, offering flexibility and convenience for families. What's Included: 30 hours of classroom instruction: Covering state-approved curriculum to prepare students for their permit exam. 6 hours of behind-the-wheel training: Individualized, hands-on driving lessons with professional, experienced instructors. Give Back & Grow on The Farm at YMCA Camp St. Croix
Give Back & Grow is a service learning field trip experience hosted on The Farm at YMCA Camp St. Croix. Students will get to experience the joy of giving back and making a difference for local children, families, and communities through two main activities: Farm Service Learning: Learn about and help with farm chores. Scavenger Hunt: Participate in a camp-wide scavenger hunt to learn about ecological concepts and practice team building in a safe, fun, and inclusive environment. This is a great opportunity to enjoy the outdoors, learn about farming, volunteer, and have fun with friends while making a real difference. Students can count this field trip experience as volunteer hours toward the Edina Service Stars program. Please Note: Lunch is not provided, so participants must bring their own bag lunch.
