Skillbuilding: Intro to Lathe, Bowl Turning

Description: In this class you'll learn how to turn a small bowl or dish. The course will start with the anatomy of a lathe, staying safe while turning, and appropriate technique for carbide tools (steel tools will be discussed). We will go through the process of mounting a blank, how to properly shape a tenon, and the process of hollowing. We will end with sanding, and there will be options to either finish on or off the lathe depending on intended use or preference. All materials will be provided.
