Jr. Makers Club I: Gr. K-3
Jump into an exciting new school year with all-new lessons! Whether you're a new or returning student, the Engineering For Kids Jr. Makers Club offers hands-on, engaging activities each week to spark curiosity and creativity. Students will explore engineering concepts while developing essential 21st-century skills like problem-solving, critical thinking, and teamwork, building confidence to tackle challenges in and out of the classroom.
Some of the project include:
- Aerospace Engineering Stunt Plane- Students learn about the science of flight and design their own glider.
- Acoustic Engineering String Telephone- Students explore how sound travels by creating and testing their own string telephone.
- Mechanical Engineering Pyramid Slingshot- Students explore potential and kinetic energy as they design and build a simple pyramid‑style slingshot.
- Coding Unplugged: Binary Bracelets- Students learn how information is represented so that computers can interpret and store it, then create a simple binary bracelet.
- Environmental Engineering Bug in a Web- Students learn how spiders use their webs to catch bugs in nature, then build a simple bug‑in‑a‑web model inspired by how real webs work.
- Electrical Engineering Magnet Maze- Students learn about magnets, their properties, and how they are used in navigation tools like compasses, then create their own magnet‑guided maze.
