Guided Forest Bathing
Slow down and connect with nature through the practice of forest bathing.
Inspired by the Japanese practice of Shinrin-Yoku, forest bathing is a slow and mindful practice, connecting with nature through the senses. As a Certified Forest Therapy Guide, Mary will offer a series of invitations to explore a deeper connection with nature and with yourself. Research has shown that spending time in nature has many benefits including decreasing stress, lowering blood pressure, and improving mood. This class will take place at Bredesen Park in Edina. Please dress for the weather. Class will be cancelled only in the event of severe weather. If it is raining, please bring your umbrella and boots. Class will only be cancelled in the event of severe weather.
The instructor will provide you with details about the meeting point a few days before class.
Mary McCallum
Mary is a Certified Forest Therapy Guide through the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy and an E-RYT200 YACEP certified yoga instructor specializing in accessible yoga for beginners.
As a yoga instructor, Mary is known for her ability to help discouraged folks find their way to safe and welcoming movement so they can enjoy more adventures and activities. Her goal is to create a fun, inclusive, supportive, and non-intimidating environment for all ages, sizes, and abilities.
Mary’s passion for accessibility and inclusion carries over into her work as a forest therapy guide. She has always been a nature lover and an avid hiker, but just recently discovered a deeper connection with nature through forest therapy. After ex
